Quick and easy Korean radish salad (Mu Seng-che)



Korean radish salad is another popular side dish that people opt for when there's no proper fermented Kimchi.

Mu means radish and Seng-che /seng tʃe / is a word usually used for vegetable dishes that's mixed with various spices without cooking or fermenting.
Like Kimchi, this radish salad (Mu seng-che) is very popular side dish but so easy and quickly cookable version of Kimchi.

It also goes very well with any meat dishes.

Ingredients
  • Radish - 1ea (used half for adults and the other half for my son)
  • Onion - 1/2ea
  • Spring onion - 2~3ea
(seasoning)
  • Chili powder - 2 table spoons
  • Sugar - 2 table spoons
  • Vinegar - 2 table spoons
  • Fish sauce - 2 table spoons
Directions
  1. Using a half of the radish, peel the skin and chop it thinly
  2. Add 2 spoons of salt and water (water is optional) and mix well and leave it for 10 mins
  3. Chop the onion and spring onions (as much as you like)
  4. After 10 mins, wash the radish lightly in fresh water
  5. Squeeze to drain as much water as possible from the radish
  6. Add all the seasoning ingredients and mix well
